Big-box insurers are underserving small businesses. The AssureStart founders realized that by making it easier and more affordable to find and buy online the unique coverage a particular business needed, they could change the market. With an initial focus on one product – a Business Owners Policy – and a handful of states, they would refine an offering that would be difficult for others to match. Eventually, they would offer multiple products across all 50 states.

Deloitte Digital worked closely with a package policy administration vendor to translate the complex insurance data and service calls into a REST service layer to support the site. On the front end, we focused on functional UX and clean design – using a “content first” approach – to develop a responsive site that's easy for customers to use while still meeting regulatory requirements.

Launched in November 2013, we delivered a dynamic, user-friendly site that can grow with the company as they develop and expand their offerings. Equally functional across devices, the site lets customers customize, purchase, and manage their small business policy from anywhere.
